120 mm core with willow and optional steel mesh facade

THE GREEN ELEMENT_{^{® ECONOMY}} is an up-to-date and material-saving version of THE GREEN ELEMENT_®. All aspects of a noise barrier have been analysed thoroughly to achieve a cost-effective, but powerful noise reduction concept.  THE GREEN ELEMENT® ECONOMY uses dry willow and, if applicable, metal mesh facades. The metal mesh side can be planted up with willow or other plants. The metal mesh can be omitted by using dry, woven willow on both sides. This type of barrier is also available for SELF-BUILD.

This barrier therefore differs from the 240 mm barriers in fitting technique and barrier structure. The barrier consists of two willow elements fitted in parallel although one side may be replaced by a metal mesh. The rock wool core is limited to a self-supporting 120 mm core. The elements are fitted directly on posts. The posts are typically placed in the ground in a concrete foundation although further foundations may be required on banks and inclines. In mountainous areas, on bridges, etc. post brackets are used.
